Opinion: We need to support government in its pursuit of better life in Belarus

The government is creating an enabling environment for Belarusian people and it is important to support these efforts, Anton Lobanovsky, a delegate of the Belarusian People’s Congress, a teacher of the Belarusian language and literature at Mezhisetky Secondary School, told a BelTA correspondent.

“The government is trying to ensure good living conditions in Belarus. This is implied by the country’s development goals and priorities for the next five years, where not a single sphere has been left behind,” noted Anton Lobanovsky. “We, citizens, need to support this work on the ground. Every person should contribute to the successful future of the country,” he added.

Anton Lobanovsky has been teaching the Belarusian language and literature at Mezhisetky Secondary School of Mogilev Oblast for seven years. “I made a career choice in the 11th grade, I chose a profession that I really liked. All my family members are teachers, therefore it was a well-informed choice. I was not disappointed in the profession, quite the opposite, I fell in love with it even more. Through the Belarusian language and literature children learn the history of their country, explore our rich culture. I want to leave something in the hearts and souls of my students. I learn with them, I am always on the move. It keeps me in good shape. If each of us does our job well, we can make our country even better,” he said.

Anton Lobanovsky will represent young teachers at the Belarusian People’s Congress. “A career choice plays an important role in the life of every person. I think you need to let your heart make this choice. In this case your work will be rewarding and fulfilling. Our future is in our hands. It is important to understand it and keep it in mind while working,” the delegate said.

Anton Lobanovsky added that being a delegate is exciting and interesting. “I am an ordinary village school teacher who was chosen for such an important event. It bears a great responsibility. But at the same time, it is a very interesting experience. It is an opportunity to meet new people, hear their ideas and share yours offline. Such a constructive and interesting dialogue is conducive to discussing the most important things about the future of Belarus and finding new things that will inspire you,” he added.
