Mogilev Puppet Theater to present Magic Brush tale

MOGILEV, 29 September (BelTA) – The Mogilev Oblast Puppet Theater is ready to amaze its audience with the latest technical achievements in its premiere tale Magic Brush, director of the theater Vladimir Andreenko told BelTA.

Theater producer Igor Kazakov, the author of the project, has made use of all possible modern technical means: flash animation, sound and light effects, actors, huge bright marionettes and many more. The setting was designed by Tatiana Nersesyan, an artist of the Belarusian State Puppet Theater.

“Such a large-scale project where the entire theater company is engaged is being implemented on the Belarusian stage for the first time. By doing this we are trying to prove that today’s youth theater keeps up to the times and is ready to offer its audience a more interesting and breathtaking show than Internet and computer games are,” he noted.

The hero of the tale is a small girl that finds herself in a country of white and black colors, with other colors being held by wicked Blot. The girl releases the colors using her magic brush to draw a world full of colors, warmth and sunlight. “The play caters not only for children, the adults will be able to learn a lot of interesting and useful for themselves, too,” Vladimir Andreenko believes.

The play will premiere on 20 December. It will be played three times a week till 8 January 2012.

The Mogilev Oblast Puppet Theater was founded in 1976. For nearly 35 years it has staged nearly 100 shows by original plays and world classics for children and their families. Its current repertoire includes about 30 plays. The Mogilev Oblast Puppet Theater is a regular participant and a many-time winner of international festivals. In 1998 the theater’s Pilipka I Vedzma tale took the Grand Prix of the festival in Uzhgorod. The theater took first price in Vinnytsia in 1999 for its tale about three piglets. The theater annually plays more than 200 shows. The audience turnout exceeds 30,000 people.
