Nationwide action “We are Belarusians” to start in Mogilev oblast

A nationwide cultural action “We are Belarusians” will be held in Belarus in 2008, chief of the Culture Department of the Culture Ministry of the Republic of Belarus Mikhail Kozlovich told BelTA. The event includes concerts, which will be held in all oblast centres of Belarus and in all regional centres from March till September. in early March the Belarusian group Pesnyary will open the event in the Mogilev oblast, while the dance group Khoroshki in Minsk. The action will culminate in Minsk by the memorial “Minsk Hero City” on the Independence Day, July 3. Mikhail Kozlovich said, that the nationwide action “For independent and prosperous Belarus!” last year was a great event in the cultural life of the country. More than 70 concerts featuring professional musicians such as Pesnyary, Syabry, Byaseda and singers Angelika Agurbash, Irina Dorofeyeva and Dmitry Koldun gathered almost 200,000 people. As many as 200,000 attended the gala concert by the memorial “Minsk Hero City” on July 3, 2007.
