New school opens in Mogilev

MOGILEV, 1 September (BelTA) – School No. 45 for 1,020 students has opened in the Sputnik residential neighborhood in Mogilev, BelTA has learnt.

Attending the opening ceremony was Chairman of the Mogilev Oblast Executive Committee Piotr Rudnik. He noted that the school was built within a very short timeframe – a little more than a year. The school boasts spacious classrooms with comfortable furniture, language laboratories, computer labs, gyms and a pool. Br65 billion was allocated to build the school. However, the money was spent on a good cause. The students will be able to receive profound knowledge across a multitude of disciplines and will learn to be true citizens of their country.

Addressing the teachers, Piotr Rudnik emphasized, “You have a special responsibility – responsibility for our children, which means responsibility for the future of the country. Your professionalism, creative approach, your heart and soul will determine the quality of education and the social role of each graduate”.

He informed that the Mogilev Oblast Executive Committee decided to provide material assistance to families with many children for this academic year. The aid will equal 50% of the minimum living wage. About Br3 billion was allocated for the purpose. However, the social support will not be limited to one-off payments. In the near future, public sector employees and non-working pensioners will receive Br500,000 each to buy vegetables. Later on, the first category wage rate will be increased. The allowances for families with children will be raised every quarter. In Q4, the amount of the one-off payment for the birth of a baby will double. Pensions and student allowances are expected to rise, too.

On behalf of the Mogilev Oblast Executive Committee Piotr Rudnik presented a set of new sports equipment to the school. He warmly congratulated everyone on the Day of Knowledge and wished the students of the new school to be first always and everywhere – in learning, sports and life.
