Alena Lanskaya to represent Belarus at Eurovision 2013
MINSK, 10 December (BelTA) - Alena Lanskaya won the national selection for the 2013 Eurovision Song Contest held at the Belarusian Television and Radio Company and will represent Belarus at the song contest in Sweden next year, BelTA has learnt.
The song for Alena Lanskaya Rhythm of Love was written by Leonid Shirin, Yuri Vashchuk, Alexei Shirin. The song was recorded in London.
Alena got a styled Eurovision heart as an award made by the Neman Glass Works.
The winner was selected following the Eurovision traditional rules: by the public voting and the jury’s assessment. The jury of the national selection contest was led by Chairman of the Belarusian Television and Radio Company Gennady Davydko. The panel of judges included cultural and art figures, composers, musicians, producers, representatives of the television and radio industry, journalists.
Honored Artist of Belarus Alena Lanskaya was born in Mogilev on 7 September 1985. She is the prize-holder of numerous music competitions. Among them is Sarandev 2008 (Bulgaria) and Europe Cup 2009 (Russia). She is the winner of the International Competition of Young Pop Singers Atlantic Breeze 2010 and many others.
All in all, competing at the national selection for the 2013 Eurovision Song Contest were over 80 singers and musical bands. Among those to reached the final were Max Lorens (I love your charming eyes), Aleksei Gross (One way love), Daria (Catch me again), Nuteki Band (Save me), Satsura (Get out of my way), Uzari (Secret), Яnkey (Letter to mother), Vitaly Voronko (I wonder how you), Beaver Band (Incredible girl).
The Eurovision 2013 will take place in Malmo, Sweden, in May.
