Belarus names National Music Award winners
MINSK, 13 December (BelTA) - National Pop Music Award holders were announced in a gala concert at the Palace of Sports in Minsk on 12 December, BelTA has learnt.
Among the awardees were: Larisa Gribalyova, Do not be rough with me (Song of the Year), Sasha Nemo (Best Pop Singer), Open Space (Best Rock Band), Apple Tea Jazz (Best Jazz Band), Stary Olsa (Best Folk Performance), IOWA (Discovery of the Year), German (Best Music Writer), Yaroslav Rakitin (Best Songwriter), Anatoly Yarmolenko, Come to our Belarus (Belarusian Song of the Year), Tyani-Tolkai Band, You are My Blessing (Best Album), Drum Ecstasy Band (Best Film Song; film Selitra No.7), Bez Bileta Band (Concert of the Year), Alexander Solodukha, Berega (Best Tours), Lermont Band, Beauty (Best Clip), Sergei Andrianov (Best Music Critic), Vladimir Kubyshkin (Best Producer), Yakov Naumenko (For Contribution to Modern Music Development), Aleksandra Loktionova (Best New Artist of the Year).
Special prizes went to Yulia Zhidkaya’s Singing Cities project for the Debut of the Year, Alexander Tikhanovich for the Anniversary of the Year (the singer celebrated his 60th birthday), Alexander Solodukha and Minsk participants of the Singing Cities project for the Creative Idea of the Year, and others.
The winners received special prizes, diplomas and bonuses. The National Music Award statuette designed by sculptor Andrei Khotyanovsky depicts music symbols, a star and the Belarusian ornaments.
The organizers of the award ceremony are the Culture Ministry and the Stolichnoye Televideniye Company. The National Music Award has been awarded in Belarus for the second time. Among last year’s winners were Inna Afanasyeva, Aleksei Khlestov, Troitsa Band, Leonid Shirin, Nina Bogdanova, Oleg Klimov, J:Mors Band, Lidia Zablotskaya, Litesound Band, Dmitry Koldun and many more.
