Minsk Oblast’s investment potential presented at Expo Milano 2015
MINSK, 15 October (BelTA) – The economic, investment, and tourism potential of Belarus’ Minsk Oblast was showcased at Expo Milano 2015, BelTA learned from the press service of Belarus' National Pavilion.
A 15-member delegation headed by Deputy Chairman of the Minsk Oblast Executive Committee Oleg Plavsky arrived in Milan to attend the Days of Minsk Oblast at Expo Milano 2015. During the opening ceremony of the Days, Oleg Plavsky stressed that the Belarusian region has trade ties with 156 countries. It exports goods to 129 states and imports products from 136 countries. Minsk Oblast has 84 cooperation agreements and 175 twinning agreements. The official added that the region is paying special attention to the intensification of mutually beneficial cooperation with Italy that imports its oil products, mineral and potash fertilizers, animal leather, frozen fruit and vegetables, wood products, and other goods. Besides, some enterprises of Minsk Oblast receive investment from Italy.
Representatives of the Minsk Office of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry briefed the visitors to the expo about all the Belarusian companies that took part in the Days of Minsk Oblast at Expo Milano 2015. They invited foreign companies to establish ties with Minsk Oblast enterprises and also presented opportunities for business cooperation inside Belarus and beyond its borders.
The bilateral cooperation was discussed during a business matchmaking session that was attended by more than 50 Belarusian and foreign businessmen.
