Mogilev airport to launch charter flights to Turkey in June

MOGILEV, 8 February (BelTA) – Mogilev airport will launch charter flights to Turkey in June, BelTA learned from Vladimir Nikitin, the head of Mogilev Airport, a subsidiary of Belaeronavigatsiya Company.

By prior arrangement with Belavia air carrier, Mogilev airport plans to operate 12 charter flights to Turkey from June to September using Boeing 737 that seat 148 or 128 people, depending on the aircraft modification. Mogilev travel agencies say that Turkey is one of the most popular holiday destinations among Belarusians and there will be no problems with the occupancy rate of the route.

“We hope there will be no problems with sales and no flights will be cancelled. A two-year experience of operating charter flights to Bulgaria gives us reason to be optimistic. In 2016 alone, the airport operated 17 chartered flights to Burgas, Bulgaria, carrying more than 4,500 passengers, and earning Br1.2 billion (pre-redenomination). This year we plan to operate the same number of flights to Bulgaria and to increase our revenues,” Vladimir Nikitin noted.

In 2016, Mogilev airport earned more than Br8 billion from air navigation and commercial transit aircraft services, which is the best result of all regional airports in Belarus.
