Plans to set up silicon valley in Mogilev unveiled
MOGILEV, 30 March (BelTA) – Mogilev Oblast’s first IT business incubator is supposed to be created in the oblast capital by the end of the year, BelTA learned from Viktor Krasovsky, Deputy Chairman of the Economy Committee of the Mogilev Oblast Executive Committee, on 30 March.
The Mogilev Development Agency is in charge of implementing the project. The agency is now looking for suitable premises. The business incubator project is supposed to attract companies specializing in electronic and computer industries, research and development. The business incubator will also invite highly qualified IT specialists and venture companies, which are ready to actively invest in high technologies. All the conditions for their work will be created in the business incubator, assured Viktor Krasovsky.
The Vitebsk Oblast budget and the Vitebsk city budget will be used to create office premises for IT companies and furnish them with furniture and office equipment. Startup companies and company branches will be granted preferences and support until they mature. In the future small branches of the business incubator may be created in several cities and district capitals across Mogilev Oblast.
Plans have been made to set up entrepreneurship support centers in Bykhov and Osipovichi as part of the government program on developing small and medium private enterprises in 2016-2020.
