Prime minister notes improvements in Belarusian company Strommashina

MINSK, 8 November (BelTA) – The situation is improving at OAO Mogilev Plant Strommashina. Prime Minister of Belarus Andrei Kobyakov made the relevant statement during the session of the Presidium of the Council of Ministers on 8 November, BelTA has learned. Participants of the session discussed future development plans of the Mogilev-based company as well as plans concerning the Mogilevtransmash factory (a subdivision of Minsk Automobile Plant, which is the managing company of the holding company BelavtoMAZ), the press service of the Belarusian government told BelTA.

Andrei Kobyakov pointed out that the current financial and economic situation at OAO Mogilev Plant Strommashina is complicated. The Mogilev Oblast Economic Court has initiated bankruptcy proceedings against the company. A rehabilitation plan has been worked out and is being implemented. The plan is supposed to normalize the commercial operation of the company. A number of measures have been taken and have secured positive dynamics. Since May 2016 Strommashina has been able to secure a positive monthly sales profit margin.

According to Andrei Kobyakov, the financial and economic situation at the Mogilevtransmash enterprise is also complicated. The enterprise is not a legal person but a subdivision of Minsk Automobile Plant (MAZ trademark). The Prime Minister attributed the situation to low labor productivity and the low workload of the manufacturing facilities in addition to the high prime cost of manufactured products and their low quality.

After the plans meant to guide the future development of the enterprises were discussed, instructions were given to polish them taking into account the remarks voiced during the session of the Council of Ministers Presidium. The plans are supposed to be forwarded for consideration of the Belarusian government after that.
