Young people seen as new ambassadors for Belarus-Russia Union State
MOGILEV, 11 October (BelTA) - The youth of Belarus and Russia can become new ambassadors for the Belarus-Russia Union State, Belarus’ Education Minister Igor Karpenko said at the opening of the Youth for the Union State forum in Mogilev on 10 October, BelTA has learned.
According to the minister, young people are ready to take over from the older generation, implement modern innovative projects in various areas. He made sure of this during an open dialogue with the youth during the forum.
"Young people are facing more challenges today. It is very important for us to preserve trusting relations between Belarus and Russia. Our nations share history and traditions that we pass down to the next generation," Igor Karpenko said.
The minister emphasized that today young people are self-motivated and passionate about their work. They contribute to the dynamic development of the Union State and prosperity of the two countries. "I think it is essential to demonstrate the common desire of young people to cooperate on achieving common goals. We should focus on peace and mutual understanding, moral values, friendship, and hospitality," the minister noted.
“Such forums play a significant role in maintaining peace around the world. Young people are already laying the foundations for the future. We appreciate their active life position,” Igor Karpenko emphasized.
The minister wished the forum fruitful work. “This forum and the agreements on regional cooperation will give a new impetus to the development of youth cooperation between the two countries,” Igor Karpenko said.
