Belarus' foreign trade surplus at $70.6m in August 2023
Belarus' foreign trade surplus amounted to $70.6 million in August 2023. The export of goods and services was estimated at $4.04 billion, the import at $3.97 billion, BelTA informs citing the statistics posted on the website of the National Bank.
Foreign trade in goods and services remained on the growth track. In January-August 2023 the trade rose by 12.2% year-on-year to reach $61.9 billion.
All in all, despite the sanctions Belarus' foreign trade remained structurally stable: the average monthly cost of export and import of goods did not change much and was estimated at $3.9 billion. As a result, in January-August 2023 the trade deficit in goods and services was $23.5 million.
The trade in services had a surplus of $1.8 billion in January-August 2023. The average monthly surplus in trade in services has stabilized after June 2023 at about $200 million. In January-August 2023, the export of services stood at $5.5 billion, the import at $3.7 billion.
