Belarus opening honorary consulate in Lausanne
MINSK, 28 August (BelTA) – Belarus is opening an honorary consulate in Lausanne, BelTA learned from the Belarusian embassy in Switzerland.
“The Swiss government has granted the exequatur to Andrei Nazheskin, Belarus’ Honorary Consul to Lausanne with the consular district in the Cantons of Vaud, Valais, Geneva, Neuchatel, Fribourg and Jura,” representatives of the diplomatic mission said.
The official opening ceremony of the honorary consulate in Lausanne will take place in the near future.
Lausanne is the capital of the Swiss French-speaking Canton of Vaud. The city is situated on the shores of Lake Geneva. Lausanne is a focus of international sport, hosting the International Olympic Committee (which recognizes the city as the "Olympic Capital" since 1994), the Court of Arbitration for Sport and numerous international sport associations.
