Belarus’ sports facilities almost ready for 2019 European Games
MINSK, 25 October (BelTA) – The sports facilities of Minsk are almost ready for the Second European Games, head of the sports and tourism department of the Minsk City Hall Sergei Furmanov told the media on 24 October, BelTA has learned.
“All the sports facilities, which are under construction, will be commissioned in time. In 2018 they will host test competitions,” noted Sergei Furmanov.
The Second European Games will take place at 11 sports facilities of the Belarusian capital, and also the rowing channel near Zaslavl. About 6,000 volunteers will help the games happen in Belarus. The competitions in 15 sports will be held on 21-30 June. Taking part in the competitions will be 4,000 athletes from 50 countries. The Belarusian capital is also expected to welcome about 2,000 coaches and support staff, official delegations, including 650 international and 410 national judges, and also about 1,000 mass media representatives.
Dinamo Stadium will host the opening ceremony of the games and also athletics events. The competitions will also be held at Minsk Arena, Chizhovka Arena, Sports Palace, Uruchye sports center, Olympiyski stadium and other sports facilities.
