Capacity utilization rate at 10-year high in Belarus
MINSK, 9 October (BelTA) – The capacity utilization rate is at a 10-year high, BelTA learned from the press service of the Economy Ministry of Belarus.
"A business confidence survey conducted by the Economy Research Institute at the Economy Ministry in September of this year showed that more than 80% of business managers reported growth in output (43%) or the same level output (39%). Every third reported an increase in demand for the products they manufacture. The order intakes have been more than three months on average. This trend has remained in place since July," the ministry said.
The average capacity utilization rate in the manufacturing sector was 70%. This is the highest since September 2013.
The backlogs of inventory are reducing. A third of respondents reported their decrease.
"Employment is growing: 92% of manufacturers reported retaining or increasing the number of employees. The manufacturers expect the demand for their products and the employment to remain at the current level and predict further growth in output," the Economy Ministry said.
